Welcome to We Go Again - Liverpool Reds, a blog about Liverpool Football Club with a Swedish perspective written in English.

This is the first entry, I hope many will follow.

My name is Leif Larsson and I am a Swede living in Sweden. I have been a Liverpool supporter for over 40 years. As early as 1969 Swedish television started to screen English football matches live. In the beginning most matches came from The Midlands, due to TV rights. But eventually games from all over England was showed. I fell instantly in love with English football and when I saw Liverpool I promptly took the team to my heart, locked it and threw away the key.

Everything about the team and the club was irresistible. The playing style of pass-and-move, the anthem You´ll never walk alone, the excellent players, the atmosphere att Anfield an the all-red strip. It was sublime and powerful. Thank you Bill Shankly for introducing the now world famous outfit.

Due to extensive TV coverage for the last 15-20 years I have been able to watch almost every Liverpool league game during that period. Many of the cup games has also been on the telly. Before that I listened to matches on the radio and regularly read the only English newspaper that was on sale in my home town. This was of course before the internet era. I´ve been to Anfield and watched my favourites, last time I was there on New Years Day this year and hope to be back soon.

I am a bit of a anglophile and like many things about England. I love the language and therefore I am writing this blog in English. And it´s of course a way to reach more readers. You´ll have to forgive errors in grammar, choice of word, spelling and other things that will undoubtedly occur. Though I´ll do my best to minimize the flaws.

I will write about all kinds of things that concerns Liverpool FC. Sometimes I will hand out praise, other times it will be the opposite. I will continuously add different categories to the blog.

Unfortunately I can´t have the commentator space open, not at this point anyhow. I have a full time job and don´t have the time to answer comments or keep a tidy site. I have seen how people write abusive things and argue with each other in foul language on other sites. I don´t want that.

But I welcome views that are constructive and written in a civil tone. They could be published as guest posts on the site. It could be an answer to something I or some other person wrote or an independent article regarding Liverpool FC or football in general. Needless to say the views doesnt´t have to be the same as mine or any other guestwriter. They have to be written in decent English and in a good structure. I don´t have time to correct articles.

Finally I have to explain why the blog is named We Go Again. Naturally it stems from the rallying speach that Steven Gerrard had after the win against Man City last season. But the words actually tells everything about what Liverpool FC stands for. Whatever happens, win, draw or defeat, the Reds will always go again. To take revenge (after defeats) or more of the same (after wins). Likewise after a good or bad season, the motto is to go again the following year. If we lose a great player, we go again and find another. If we manage to get rid of bad owners (you know which duo I mean) we go again and get better ones. And when the truth about Hillsborough is hidden Liverpool people time after time go again to unveil it.

To me the words We Go Again has got almost the same power as You´ll Never Walk Alone.

That´s all for now - and remember:

We Go Again.
